Hi, I’m Giselle
I am a branding and website designer born in the era of MySpace, a content creator born out of curiosity, and a social media manager born out of necessity. These roles have allowed me to have much cross-over in my expertise and skill sets. My design mind establishes brand continuity across shared graphic assets. My creator mind creates scroll-stopping visuals that drive engagement and connect with audiences. And my manager mind analyzes the market to make informed decisions on what to post next.
UCF Black ALumni COmmunity
I have been serving as the Interim Social Media Lead for my university's Black Alumni Community, the first identity-based alumni community established. In this role, I lead committee meetings that discuss marketing strategies for initiatives, campaign development, and content ideation. I also create all the social media assets, plan the content calendars and draft caption copy. Most recently, we ran a campaign to celebrate the spring 2024 graduation season, where we focused on building community with and recruiting the newest graduates, or as we call ourselves, AlumKnights.
The campaign involved daily in-feed & story posts leading up to graduation weekend, re-sharing graduation photos on our stories, encouraging grads to tag us in their posts, and a photo collage reel to cap the weekend off. During this period (May 1 - May 7), our followers increased by 3.4%, our account impressions increased by 139%, our engagement with our followers increased by 145%, and we received 7 new community members, with 3 of them applying to join our leadership council. Our grad photo recap reel is currently our highest-performing reel since the account was established.
